I am excited to share the general availability of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (EWM) 7.1. In this release, we are introducing a host of new features and improvements designed to improve your productivity and elevate your experience. Here are some of the updates we believe will enhance the way you work:
It’s now easier to express yourself
Add images inline to work item description and large HTML fields
Now you can quickly add inline images from your clipboard, file explorer, or existing attachments, making it simpler to provide clear, visual context and improve team collaboration in work items. For more information, see Description box in web client

Add tables inline to work item description and large HTML fields
You can now insert, format, and edit inline HTML tables in work item descriptions. Customize table properties, merge or split cells, adjust the size of rows and columns, and even add headers and colors for displaying complex data as visually appealing structured information. For more information, see Description box in web client.

Gain more control over your code reviews
Jazz Admins and Jazz Project Admins can now reopen closed code reviews for further review, ensuring no feedback is missed. Enhanced logging also make it easier to troubleshoot change-set mismatches, providing greater accuracy and control in your code review process.
Linking work items in Git just got easier
Take advantage of the additional keywords and delimiters you can use when linking work items in Git, including ‘item’, ‘epic’, ‘story’, ‘feature, and ‘test plan’ in commit messages, along with various delimiters such as hyphens, underscores, white space, equal, and colons. The consistent grammar support across web-hooks, pre-receive, and post-receive hooks will help practitioners use work item tracking to be more productive. For more information, see Creating links from commit message.
And more
EWM 7.1 includes other new and notable features and improvements too. I encourage you to read about them in the What’s New in Engineering Workflow Management 7.1 page in IBM Docs. You can refer to the Known Issues in Engineering Workflow Management 7.1 for limitations and recommended workarounds.
Whether you’re a longtime user or just beginning your journey with IBM Engineering Workflow Management, we are excited for you to experience the new version. As always, we welcome and appreciate your feedback!
