I’m pleased to announce that the Team Concert Client for Visual Studio Client beta is now available for download. It’s a fully functional preview of what we will be shipping as part of the Rational Team Concert 1.0.1.1 release slated for the first quarter of 2009. The client will be available, at no additional cost, to licensed users, in all editions of Rational Team Concert.

The beta includes most of the functions developers need for day to day work, such as source control and work item integrations. In fact, most of the features listed in the release plan are available now although some are more polished than others.

To help get you started I’ve recorded a short video of the client in action. It’s also good to read the installation instructions for caveats and tricks for setting up your projects. What we would love to hear via work items or forums posts, are your experiences, defects, and suggestions for improvements. Now, don’t forget that this is a beta release and we still have a couple of months of hardening and polishing. Look for regular updates.
