How does RTC search for work items?

Clark Bynum (813) | asked Dec 13 '13, 2:48 p.m.
I have come across some irregular work item search results. When searching for something like "test5" RTC returned ten total work items. Two of which had the query in a property (title, description, tags, etc.). The other 8 did not have the complete query anywhere in their fields. It seemed like RTC was breaking up "test" and "5" and returning results that contained both of those separate queries.

Any insight on how RTC searches for work items?

JAZZ DEVELOPER
Clark,

the details for quick search can be found in jazz article 824 and some more details in this technote. A complete overview of all search mechanisms is given in jazz article 1271 whereas the compilation of all this information is on the Deployment Wiki under the Understanding Indices link.
