You need to create a default value provider first, similar to this:

You could try Process Configuration>....Work Items>Attribute Customization and create a default value provider for an iteration. you can configure the default value in the work item types.

I'm using RTC 5, I do not find the place in Work Item -> Types and Attributes to assign to Planned For an iteration by default

Thank you for your help,

It is also possible for an RTC end-user? (i do not have eclipse)
Cannot find the path Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Work Items > Attribute Customization > Default Values

I have this structure
only Work Items

Great, I got the Eclipse version and did it !

Thank you!
