availability of new attributes in existing workitems

Robert Jessel (322) | asked Oct 15 '12, 12:08 p.m.
When adding new attributes to an existing workitem type they are available / modifiable only to new created workitems but not to old ones. How can I solve this problem?

Run a work item query, such as "All Defects", highlight all items in result,  right click on "type" field, select "Synchronize attributes".

Open the Project in Eclipse Client > Process Configuration > Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Work Items > Types and Attributes > Select the respective Work Item Type > Check attributes usages in repository

That method also works.  The advantage of the method I had given is that you can easily target which work items you want the add the new attributes to with your query, such as all open work items scheduled for release 1.2.
