Can 2 RQM Quality professional licenses be assigned to 1 userid

We have a test and production environment.

I need to have a RQM Quality Professional license for both environments.

My current userid works in both environments and I have access to all my other licenses.

I have been told that I would have to have another userid setup in order for me to have a RQM Quality Professional license to use.  I would have my original userid for one environment and my new userid for the other.  Is this necessary?

Are you using LDAP?  What type of licensing are you using (https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/topic/com.ibm.jazz.repository.web.admin.doc/topics/c_managing_licenses.html)?

If you
  • Have floating licenses and use the same floating server, you should be fine
  • Have authorized user licenses, you are only allowed to use the license with one JTS; if you have two QM applications running against one JTS you should be fine
  • If you upload the same license file to multiple servers and the accumulation of all licenses on all servers exceed the number of licenses of this license type you purchased, you are in violation with the contract as far as I can tell

I have heard statements that customers could use the same license on a different server, if that server is used as test environment for testing of automation, extending, and therefore is not used as a production server for productive work. However I am not aware that there is an official statement and you might want to approach your IBM contacts to get to a common understanding.
