Hi
When connected to an IBM network machine via remote desktop, and use a browser from the remote desktop machine, users can access RRDI. But cannot from a browser that is running on the machine that is connected to the IBM network via AT&T (AT&T Network Client, v7.6.3) When logged into the IBM network via AT&T VPN, RRDI does not work and displays this error message: IBM Cognos 8 CAM-AAA-0203 Unable to generate or validate a userSessionID Details : CAM-AAA-0027 The function call to 'CAM_VerifyUserSessionID' failed. Reason: '-1' Could this be something to do with the HTTP traffic between the browser and the server going through the VPN? Are there known VPN settings that may be affecting RRDI ? Or could the issue be related to IP's? Or is this this a known restriction? For example, RRDI just doesn't work if logged into the IBM network remotely? NOTE: Found similar error info in the following links which generally spoke about the invalid cookie information passed through sessions with different servers, which was not of help in this case. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=245942 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21343190 Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks in advance Regards Rajesh |

Hi
We were able to get this issue resolved. With RQM-Cognos8-RRDI environment, it looks like IBM Cognos 8 Controller components determine the cookie domain from the HTTP request submitted by the client, which is typically a Web browser. In most network configurations, HTTP requests pass through intermediaries such as proxy servers and firewalls as they travel from the browser to IBM Cognos 8 Controller components. Some intermediaries modify the information that IBM Cognos 8 Controller components use to calculate the cookie domain, and IBM Cognos 8 Controller components then cannot set cookies. Simple solution for this is to set the cookie domain and clear the browser cookies .....!!! Thanks and Regards Rajesh Comments
