How do I generate an aging report based on work item state transition?

Hi,
Anyone have idea on how to generate aging report based on work item  state transition.

Ex: time take for changing Open  to In progress

    Time taken for changing In progress  to close

there is nothing out of the box that does this.. (time in State)

the free RRDI (Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence) reporting solution,  built on IBM Cognos, has some reports like that. And the Cognos environment is 'easier' to create reports than the BIRT environment provided out of the box.

RRDI can be downloaded from the Jazz Downloads page.

 Hi Sam,

               I went through the RRDI Sample reports section and couldnt find any related to defect ageing or state-transition related. Could you please share the report name?
