BIRT Report Template - Creating one

I am trying to follow the instructions in the document "Customisation of Reports in Rational Team Concert using BIRT Tool" Version 1.0 to customise a report.

I selected the snap shot Workitems_snapshot which does not have paraments Project Area, Team Area etc. According to the document, these parameters can be manually added but does not state how to. Does nayone have any idea. The version of my eclipse client is 3.0.1
