Team Communication (mailing list, email notifications etc)

Hello,

We are a research team from University of Macedonia, Greece, running a project (https://jazz.net/hub/manager/project/UoMProject) hosted here on jazz.net.
We would prefer to have all the communication regarding this project handled from within Rational Team Concert - is this possible? By communication I mean to setup email alerts/notifications about changes and additions to the project, a mailing list etc.

Thanks in advance,
Kostas

Hi,

in general that should be possible. I am not sure how the Hub is configured (if there is smtp configured). If the users have valid e-mail addresses, SMTP is configured and the user have configured their notification preferences they should receive e-mails.

I don't know yet, how administration is handled on the hub. If you set up the server yourself you could have setup SMTP in the process. If not you could try if you can access https://<server>:<port>/jts/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.configureAdvanced and have a look at the SMTP properties. The administrator should be able to set this up.

You might want to consider asking this question in the hub forum: https://jazz.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=18 since I am not member of a hub project I don't know how it is set up. You could try the url /

Thanks,

Ralph

Hello,

The project is hosted here on jazz.net and even though I am a project admin, I'm not a system admin (my term for saying that I don't own the installation) so the url https://jazz.net/hub/jts/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.admin.configureAdvanced responds that "The user is not authorized to access Jazz Team Server Admin UI.". You are right though that I should post it (I did) to the hub forum - I haven't noticed there was one...

Thanks for your help,
Kostas

Hi Kostas,

you are most likely configured to be a project admin, that allows to administrate your project but does not allow to administer the server. You can check that in your user profile under repository groups.
