Can GIT be used as source control for Method Composer?

Can GIT be used as source control for Method Composer? I can see from the literature that Team Concert is supported (understandably) however could not see whether there were any other options.

I would not expect this forum to know this kind of information. Why would I even consider GIT as something worthy of knowing about? Sorry, could not resist.

On a general level I would expect it to be possible to version these artifact changes with any SCM system. How goood it would work is a different matter.
