Create new Link Type to Test Plan in RDNG

Hi ,

Is it possible to create a new link type to Test plan in RDNG ?
I know how to create a new link type , but how can I define the link type to point at specific Test plan ?
Of course I want the option to select the Project and the Test plan .

My RDNG version is 5.0.2.

Chen

Any reason you don't want to use the existing and default option Validates/Validated By?

Because I want to connect it to RTC plan.

Are you talking about a "Test Plan" in RTC? That sounds a bit strange. If you simply refer to the RTC plans, the existing link type is Implements/Implemented By. You probably need to explain in details what you actually try to achieve.

Hi ,

I want to connect my Artifact to RTC plan.

Implementets/Implemented By can attach only Work Items.

Is there any other option that already exists to do it ? if not what are my options ?

Thanks :)

Your requirement is a bit different from the norm. The Implements/Implemented By link works between a plan and a "collection", or a work item and a requirement artifact. Does this not work for you at all?

It works , but our clients demanded that.

Is this option exists ? if not what is the best way to create it ?

Thanks :)

I'm not sure whether you can create a new link type when RDNG is involved. For RTC, you can create a plugin to implement a new link type, and of course it requires some development effort. Check out the previous discussions for more details.

It is too bad that the choice is "Validates" when most people using this wish to "Verify". And when you are trying to introduce the subtleties between Validates and Verifies it would be good if you had the option.
