What is the purpose of the Group field when defining a new State for a workflow in DNG?

In DNG 6.0.2, you can define a new workflow for artifacts.

There is a Group field with a fixed set of values (New, Under Review, Reviewed, etc.)

What is the purpose of the Group field?

The group fields were designed to allow for future functionality planned for 6.0.6, when we will add support for pre-conditions.

So for the current available DNG versions where workflow is implemented, the group fields will be doing nothing in these versions.
