Custom report in Dashboard Widget?

Is it possible to create a custom report in Report Builder (6.0.1) and use it in Dashboard Widget?
I would like to query on work items from multiple projects areas and publish it in Dashboards, so I think this would be a good way to do it.

Thanks in advance.
Cesar

Hi Cesar,

Yes, you can create a custom report in Report Builder, set it to Public instead of Private, and then add it to your CLM dashboard as a widget.  All of your public Report Builder reports will be listed if you change the "Catalog" dropdown to Report Builder when you are adding a widget.

Yes. In order to create a report with a custom query, you either have to be a Report Builder manager or the corresponding data source option "Restrict query editing to report managers" must not be selected. To examine the data source properties, click on the data source name link in the Choose report type section of the report editor.

In Report Builder create a new report, select the data source and choose the artifact type that you want to start with. After the initial query is generated, go to the Advanced tab and click the Edit button to put the report into manual edit mode. At this point a custom SQL (DW) or SPARQL (LQE) query can be written for the report. Save the report with a corresponding name, specify a tag (for grouping in the widget catalog) and set the privacy option to Public.

In the Dashboard, choose the Report Builder application and in the left panel you should see the tags used to group public reports. Select the tag that was specified in the report and add the widget to the dashboard.
