How do you move projects and child entities between Project areas? I have been told it is manual and seems like a massive overhead

could you describe a little more.. you said you have projects, but need proper projects ;-)
there is no tooling to cleanly move/copy stuff between project areas.. sometimes workitems will be able ot be copied, but if there is any data dependency (teams, categories, ...) difference between the projects, its quite tedious to update all the data
