Is it possible to add groups (other than "Open", "In Progress", "Closed")?

Thanks!

 Hi Jeffrey,
The column header of the Kanban view is shown by the state groups. You can create custom state groups in the process configuration, then you will see new columns in Kanban view.
In addition, there are some enhancements in the plan item https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=239727 which are not implemented yet.
One of the enhancements is "Showing states as subcolumns under state groups on the board".

By this, I think you mean states for the particular work item type you're looking at.

If you have the appropriate permissions, you can add/remove states to the workflow for that work item type.

A good starting point is the following jazz.net article

https://jazz.net/library/article/129

Hope this helps!

I know I can add states but is there any way to add groups for display  as column headers in a Kanban view?

I don't believe there is a way but just wanted to verify. Thanks!

So for a Kanban view, the column headers refer to the states.  I don't think you can change that.

Actually that is what is wanted that the States are the column headers instead of the Group names. When I select "Display" and "Kanban" it has the groups as the Column headers.

Can you provide some more detail?  Can you tell me what you see as groups and what you have defined as states for your tasks?

Jeffrey Burke commented Jul 31 '14, 12:51 p.m.

Sure.

I go to view a Sprint Backlog Plan.

It has View As "Taskboard"

I select Edit Plan View.

Under Options it has "Display" and then "Taskboard" next to it. I change the "Taskboard" to "Kanban" but it keeps all the group names at the top:    => Open              => In Progress      => Resolved

What is desired is to have the column headers have the state names instead of the group names (or be able to create more groups).

Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

OK, now can you tell me the state names for the Task work item type?

Jeffrey Burke commented Jul 31 '14, 2:23 p.m.

Done, Invalid, New, In Progress, but more may be added.

See the accepted answer in How to set order of State Groups in Taskboard.

I didn't try it so far, but I looks like you can not only define the sequence but aso add additional custom groups.
(but this is a new capability in version 5.01)

Thanks Donat!
