Can ETL Job result be send to an email (email notification)?

Rustan Allen Lajara (1133) | asked Aug 14 '13, 5:42 a.m.
Hi,

Is there a way to create an auto email notification sending the details of the result of an ETL job run to an email address? The result should contain details similar to the run history.

Thanks.

It is possible as of version 4.0.3.
Please see https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Jazz%20Foundation#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=205011 for details.

Based on what this workitem says, this seems to be true only if you run the data collection jobs from the CLM server itself.  What about if you run the ETL via Rational Insight?

Hello,

regarding Insight, starting with version 1.1.1 the statistics on the ETL executions are available on the report server; see Configuring ETL statistics dashboards

An option that can be investigated would be to use IBM Cognos Event Studio (included with Insight) to create an email notification based on conditions from the ETL statistics.

Best Regards
Francesco

Hi,

Thanks for the information you have posted. However, when we try to access CCM/JTS admin pages but I could not see any options to set the email as indicated on Defect 80830.

We are using Rational Insight 1.1.1 and could not find this entry in the admin page of the CCM application.

Thanks.

A clarification, the email notification from CLM only works if you are using the CLM data collection jobs (Java ETL).
With Insight you are supposed to turn off the CLM data collection jobs and run the Data Manager ETL instead.

See Turning off the data collection jobs
