Roles management with Work Items

Tarik Mlahi (178) | asked Oct 28 '08, 7:42 a.m.
Hello all,

I have some questions regarding Work items management.

1- How a person will be able to perform multiple roles in the change management process (access to only some actions depending of it's role in the workflow)

2- Is it possible to implement "dynamic authorization": a person can perform a different role for each WI on the basis of a attribut or combination of parameters ?

Thank you

Tarik

Hi, Tarik.

1. Users are assigned roles inside team areas and project areas. Each
work item category is associated with a team area, so when you make a
change to a work item, your "effective roles" are computed based on the
team area associated with the work item's category.

2. See #1. Your roles for work items are computed solely based on the
work item category.

I'm not sure that I understood your questions, so if these answers don't
help can you please elaborate?
