Is it advisable to remove SCM file locks before updating from RTC 2.0 to 3.0.x?

We are updating from RTC 2.0 to 3.0.x and there are many SCM file locks in place. Do we need to spend time removing these before updating, or is this irrelevant? Do they pose a risk to the update?

Hi Ian, I can't remember anything special about the locks in that upgrade. In general it would be wise to check in local changes before upgrading but I would not expect any issues with locks.

Having said that, I would suggest you do a test upgrade as suggested by the help and other documentation. There are also several documents about the CLM 2011 Upgrade, including a workshop. The reason basically is that the upgrade was quite complex in some situations and a test environment gives you the opportunity get familiar with the process and to fix issues before you do the productive upgrade.
