Difference between Lifecycle project area and standalone project area?

Besides automatic association and end to end traceability. What is the difference between Lifecycle project area and standalone project area

Lifecycle projects allow you to automatically set up the project associations as you mentioned.  They also have a convenience page called Members where you can easily modify the member roles for all of the projects in the same place.  Otherwise, the projects are basically the same.  You can use the same process templates for both the Lifecycle and standalone projects.

Lauren's answer is accurate if the question was, "What is the difference between a project area in a Lifecycle Project and a project area that is not part of a Lifecycle Project?" I suspect that that is what you intended to ask, but I wasn't sure.

If you're asking what the difference is between a Lifecycle Project and a project area, it is more of an apples and oranges comparison in terms of the functionality each provides.
