The system requirements are posted at https://jazz.net/library/article/811.  Windows 7 is supported for some pieces of CLM but not the server.  That being said, I have the server and RTC installed on my Windows 7-64 bit machine, and it works fine for my personal testing (non-production) purposes.

I agree with Lauren - I am also running CLM and Design Manager on a 64-bit Windows 7 Prof. machine.  Not suitable as a server (because I suspect the number of network connections will be limited) but no problem as a test machine.

Some advice, use another directory (not the c:\program files(x86)) - I use C:\IBM - you need to change the settings on the install for the application and the shared directory.  Also - I tend to run the launchpad using the "Run as Administrator" command rather than just run - this has prevented problems in the past.  It may not be required any more as you can choose the user that installs the software.

Apart from that - it should all be fine as a test installation
