RAM Enhancement Work Item ID: 31638 Downloading assets with dependent relationships

Hi,

I would like a clarification regarding RAM Enhancement work item ID: 31638 in Jazz.net.

Link in Jazz of the work item: https://jazz.net/jazz02/web/projects/Rational%20Asset%20Manager#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=31638

In the discussion forum, Rob had raised a point saying that this feature gives the "option to select and download  related assets if they are of the DependsOn or parent/aggregate relationship. Others are not visible to select for download."

I believe Rob had suggested to open up the filter so that this feature is available irrespective of the type of relationships. Has this fix been incorporated?

We have a new defined relationship (not something "out-of-box" from RAM) and we would like to know if this capability/feature is available for defined relationships as well.

We are planning to upgrade our RAM version from 7.5.0.2 to 7.5.1.1. Can you please confirm if this download feature to select and download related assets is available for ALL types of relationships (both RAM defined and user defined) in 7.5.1.1?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Sripriya

As you can see from the attachment to this workitem for DependentOn relationships, on a download (regular or download manager) you will be able to click on a button to download the related assets as well.

It will not work for all relationships ... mostly as there could be many related assets, and at times, it is hard to tell the trees from the forest.

In 7.5.1.2 (the next release of RAM coming up 1Q 2013), you can open a search page for the related assets of an asset (e.g., from an asset detail, click on search related assets), from which you can farther filter, and then drill down to those assets you want to download

Hi Gili,

That answers my question. So in RAM 7.5.1.1 , this works only for "Dependent On" relationships and not the others.

Thank you so much!
