Finalizing a Review with a due date in the past

We are running into situations where an author of a review is not finalizing the review on or before the due date.  Once the due date has passed there doesn't seem to be a way to finalize the review unless you completely start over by creating a new review and re-send the artifacts for approval. 

We attempted to pause the review, change the due date to a future date, then restart the review hoping that would give us the option to finalize but it does not. 

Any suggestions for another possible work around without having to re-create and resend out a new review?
