CLM Contributor vs the others

What is the difference between the new CLM - Contributor and the other (product) - Contributor? Are there any "rights" changes. Should we tell our dept to buy one over the other?

This question is still not finaly answered from my point of view.

There are four contributor licenses in license management.
- Rational Solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management Contributor
- Rational Team Concert Contributor
- Rational Quality Manager Contributor
- Rational Requirements Composer Contributor

  • Do all four have same capability?
  • Do all four have the same price?
  • Does it mean the best is to have all as "Rational Solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management" so I have the max number in the pool and not a fragmented pool?
  • If we do not use Lifecycle Management License, but order them in the Advance Settings, are we sure that a user does not get multiple licenses assigned, when he switches between the different applications? We see this behaviour with the other licenses. A user has up to three licenses borowed just to browse the data in RTC, RQM and RRC, without editing anything.

All the contributor licenses offer the same capabilities. We offer them under each product, because some buyers start with one product, and it's easier to explain to their procurement departments when all part numbers related to the same product name.

 Mahari,
You should find all the information that you need to compare licenses on the following page: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0m2/topic/com.ibm.jazz.repository.web.admin.doc/topics/c_license_mgmt_over.html

Thanks, but:

That just made it confusing. I have people asking to purchase RTC Contributor, RQM Contributors and CLM Contributors licenses....

Why would they be listed differently if they all do the same thing?

Can't mark two responses as the answer... :-(
