There is help on how to install but when I click on any of the ? icons help links I get an error.

Hi,
I had the identical issue as above, and resolved by downloading the latest update file from http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/documentation/updatesites/. Then via https://localhost:port/clmhelp/updater/updater.jsp. on my server uninstalled all the current help, and reinstalled from the new file. The resulting help was nearly twice the original size. Found that IE would not aply well with the updater link. I was seeing a blank screen with IE. Found that using fire fox produced much better results and I was able to update teh help system. Thanks for the help Mark!! |

Do you see the clmhelp.war file and the clmhelp directory under jazzinstall\server\tomcat\webapps?
If not then they may not have installed correctly. Are your applications distributed? If so check out Configuring the location of the help in a distributed environment Edit Any .war file in the webapps directory should be deployed automatically when starting Tomcat. So there should be a clmhelp directory in there along side the other application directories. My clmhelp directory, using right click properties, shows 71.0 MB (74,487,164 bytes) 3,840 Files, 900 Folders If yours is different you can redeploy it by deleting the the clmhelp directory and restarting tomcat. Do the URLs in the problem links look ok? Are they using the form of .../servername.domain.com:9443 and not ../localhost:9443? The help only gets installed on the JTS application so if you installed JTS on a different server than CCM you will need to use the link above to set up access from CCM And have you tried clearing the browser cache or using a different browser? If none of this works it might be a good time to open a PMR. That way we can collect screen shots and have a screen sharing session. |
Can you please tell us the exact error you get when trying to display the help from the product? Can you tell us the URL that the system is trying to display?
Also, when you say you only see a help file for installing the CLM, could you explain what you mean? Do you see the help frames and a topic on installing CLM? Comments

FYI CLM 2012 (v4.0) is also Globally available since June 2012, in case you are just evaluating the CLM solution Comments

I know but we only just got this installed. I will think of upgrading once I have a little traction with the products. Are there any new MAJOR features apart from bug fixes (which are always good!). I say the mind map type thing in a demo. COOL!!! Yes 4.0 is a major release and there are many new features and improvements. Have a look for top noteworthy items here https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-quality-manager/releases/4.0?p=news |

Can you get there by browsing? From https://CLM:9443/clmhelp/index.jsp in the left column expand: Collaborating -> Managing Dashboards -> Adding and organizing content on a dashboard. Do any of the links in the left column work?
