unable to connect RTC clients using kerberos

The following errors are thrown when attempting to connect eclipse or Visual studio to a server using kerberos
CRJAZ6106E The client cannot log in to the following server because the Kerberos/SPNEGO ticket is not valid or has expired: <server_name>                 
CRJAZ2901E The following URL could not be reached because your Kerberos/SPNEGO ticket is not valid or has expired: /ccm/service/.....

However connecting with a browser works as expected.

Additional steps need to be taken  to ensure the clients can connect using kerberos.   See the section titled, "Local administrative users and kinit "
