Selective (filter) load from stream or component

Simone Bonazzoli (111) | asked Aug 03 '11, 8:52 a.m.
Is it possible to filter the file while loading a stream or a component?

For example i want to load only the *.xml files.

Or is it possible to tag/flag files to filter the loading?

This is a business need because sometimes there are different teams (translators vs developers) that work on different files (messages files vs suorce code) but these files are inside the same java project.

Let me know if you know a procedure or a best pratice or a workaround to solve this problem.

Thanks,
Simone

JAZZ DEVELOPER
Hi Simone,

Enhancement 158352 seems to indicate that in 3.0.1 we implemented the necessary capability for sparse loading of single files. I also know that the build process and SCM load (via command line) knows load rules in forms of text files. But these only allow inclusive rules such as: load this folder and that.
I have a feeling that there is currently no easy way to make a filter such as you describe it. It might be worth to create a work item on jazz.net
If you do, I'd support it.

This is not currently supported.
Support for this kind of sparse loading is requested in work item 44004.
It is marked as high priority, but is not scheduled for the next release.
You can indicate your interest/support with a comment on that work item.

Cheers,
Geoff
