How to propogate template updates

Vijay Sivashankar (111317) | asked Jul 21 '11, 12:47 p.m.
I want to know how to propogate the changes I made to the template to the test cases/test plans.

1) Create a Test Case Template
2) Create a Test Case using the template
3) Update the Test Case Template
4) Close all test plans and test cases and log out
5) Log back in to the check the test case previously created

It's still using the old template.
How do I propogate the new changes? If I add a new field, I want to be able to use that new field in all test cases. Otherwise, I will lose the advantage of the centralized template.

A template only primes an artifact. Any updates to the template are not
reflected back in every artifact. To update an artifact, you need to
add the sections manually. I believe there are a few enhancements
around this.

Thank you for the response.

Can you give me some details on how this can be added manually?

Do I need to manually add into each test case that was using the old template?
