Insight and web server

Arturo San Feliciano (4511011) | asked Jun 09 '11, 7:13 a.m.
Hi,

I was attended to an IBM Cognos course and on the Cognos specification exists a web server called "Gateway".

I know, after Insight Installation, that that component is not installed in this version, so what should we do with the Gateway params on the Cognos Configuration?

All the computers where Data Manager (development tool) was installed have a not valid Gateway URL as param (something like: http://localhost:80/cognos8....)

What we supposed to do with that param? How can we configure the params to remote deploy of the data manager ETL?

Should we install a web sever?

Thanks.

Rational Insight is designed to run on the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) which already has its Web container. As such, you do not need a Web server.

By default, the Rational Insight installer configures the Cognos 8 Web application to use the Servlet Gateway and packages the static Web content in the Web application. The default Gateway URI is "http://localhost:9080/insight/servlet/dispatch". Note: Starting from Insight 1.0.1, the 9080 port is specified by the user at installation. So, you may want to check with your Insight administrator on what port to use.
