Custom Requirement Types

kevin sevinsky (1144) | asked May 17 '11, 3:06 p.m.
Is it possible to create a custom requirement type (Attribute type) that will be included with every newly created project?

Is this something that can be done at the server/application level so each new project contains these custom requirement types rather than having to add them separately within each project? if so, how?

Thanks!

In RRC V3 you can create a project templates that include custom artifact types, custom relationship types (aka link types), and artifact templates.

Then use that template when creating new projects.

This will help your teams to work consistently and make it easier for someone to go from one project to the next.

I suggest looking at the project templates that ship with RRC V3 (download one of the release candidates), then modify the project to meet your needs, then save that as a new project template. You probably will need more than one project template to reflect the various kinds of projects people in your organization undertake.

Note: If you create custom report templates using Rational Publishing Engine, then add them to the RRC server, they will be available to all projects hosted on that server, so you don't need to include them in the project template (and in fact you cannot add them to the project template).
