Reference Piece of Code from Work Item

Does anyone know how to identify a few pieces of code (method/class) and then reference the piece of code easily from a work item?
When you submit a change set with changes in to the source control you can relate a work item. However if the code is allready submitted and you want to create a new workitem that somehow contains a link to the code you should either link to the workitem that originally submitted the code or you can attach a file on the links tab.
