RRC 2.0.0.2 install gives NPE

I'm trying to install RRC 2.0.0.2ifix001. The client will install OK, but when I try the server... I get the the "Install Packages" page, select Version 2.0.0.2 iFix001 and click "Next".

At that point I get a "Problem Occurred" popup, that tells me I', getting a NullPointerException. The "Details" button does not add anything further. If I click "OK", I get to see a message:
Failed to load bundle com.ibm.rational.teamconcert.install.check.serverrunning.

I can't proceed at that point. I get the same error if I attempt to install RRC 2.0.0.2 (without the iFix) too. This is attempting to install to Windows 7 64 bit.

Any advice?

Hi,

Looks like some files seems to be missing.Even I got similar exception when installed sometime back.

If you have downloaded the zip file, extract both disk1 and disk2 in the same directory and try the installation

it should work... give a try and let us know :)

Well I managed to luck out and guess a resolution...

When I run the installer from the launchpad.exe in the rrcs_setup directory or from install.exe in the rrcs_setup\installerimage_win32 it gives the error.

I already had InstallationManager installed. So I added ...\RRCS_SETUP\disktag.inf as repository location in the existing installation manager setup. Then it worked and I could install with no errors.

I'm not sure why - I haven't had to do this for any other jazz product server or client install.
