Importing RRC Project Templates - Folder structure not importing properly

Tom Weinberger (144) | asked Feb 05 '14, 9:36 a.m.

Hi - trying to import a project template into existing RRC project space using the import capability. Finding all the components importing sucesssfully (req types, attrs, data types) but not the folder structure. The creation of the template does include the folder structure as one of the elements created from the original RRC project space (our master template).

Target project space already has a folder structure.

It appears the import updates rather than replaces the existing project space config.

Any ideas on the best way to get the folder structure to import too?

 Hi Tom,

If you're looking to preserve the Folder structure along with other project data, I would suggest you use ReqIF (link will take you to the official CLM version 4.0.5 documentation) instead of Project Templates. ReqIF not only supports more types of resources as opposed to Project Templates, but also supports "round-tripping" of resources. This means that the same ReqIF package can be applied, and re-applied, to a project of data as the source resources are updated over data.

Hope this helps!
