Can anyone tell me how to get the eclipse client for RTC to install the new version of the plugin?

I've downloaded both the latest jar and the zipped jar, and havent been able to load into eclipse. Am I missing something?

currently running RTC 2.0.0.2

thanks

You need to have a jazz installation from zip and then you can just drop the plugins under C:\jazz\client\eclipse\dropins, assuming you are on Windows, and restart the eclipse client.

Hi,
I followed the steps in the link:
https://jazz.net/forum/ questions/28234/move-bulk- work-items-betwee-project- areas
and tried the plugin on 3.0.1.1 and 3.0.1. But i think i am missing some steps as its not getting activated at all. I deployed it in
IMSHared folder and teamconcert client's dropins folder and restarted the eclipse, but no effect. Please share the steps and details on how we can debug?

Thanks.

The advice for using this feature is to get a ZIPped client image, unzip it, copy over the plugin(s) from the wiki page and use this new client just for the move operation (then delete it). There are no available instructions for causing it to work with an Installation Manager based version of the client. Be sure to use the correct version of the client that matches the one the plugin is intended for -- if you don't get a warning about overwriting a file of the same name, you don't have matching client+plugin.

Hi Millard,
Where is the correct version of the zip file for 3.0.1.1?I am unable to find it in the wiki link : https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/BulkMoveWorkItemsBetweenProjectAreas.

I can see 3.0.1.1 M3 version in https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/ view/Main/ BulkMoveWorkItemsBetweenProjec tAreas?rev=19 (4th File). Does this apply for 3.0.1.1 also?

Thanks.

Final testing, packaging and documentation are being done at this time. You should be able to locate items on the wiki by week's end. Thank you for your patience.

Hi Millard,
I had a look at the wiki and got this link: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/BulkMoveWorkItemsBetweenProjectAreasInRTC3 - but its very specific to RTC v3.0.1.3. Could you please advise if the same can be followed for RTC v3.0.1.1? (or) Please advise otherwise.

Thanks.

There may not be a version specific to 3.0.1.1. Since the advice is to use a "throw away" client installation from ZIP, rather than request (and wait for) a 3.0.1.1 specific version, you might try downloading the 3.0.1.3 client ZIP and compatible plug-in and test that.

Hi Millard,

Do you have any pluggin for RTC version 4.0.6?
On this RTC version (4.0.6), i can`t select more than one workitem to move. The pluggin work only with one selected work item.

Thank you,

Christiano

What is described above is all there is (and from what I can tell, until this feature is added to the product properly, all there will be). A 4.0.0 client should still work with 4.0.6, but you must use the correct client or it still won't work. The best advice I can offer is to follow the instructions to the letter -- get a fresh client, modify it just for this purpose, then throw it away. Post a new question to the forum if you have issues -- as this is an unsupported capability, your best bet is someone else who has done this recently.

Millard,

Thank you.

I install the pluggin on RTC 4.0.0 and its work.
