I need to sum all of the estimated hours for a set of work items. I have a query that identifies all of the items but I could not find a way to sum the estimated hours (short of paper & pencil).

Hi,

if you can't use the plan's capabilities using Parent Child hierarchies I'd suggest to export your query to CSV files and use a spreadsheet to do the math. This would be at least a quick solution. Maybe there are other solutions as well.
