RQM-Reports- 'Defect List' doesnt display defects owned byme

RQM Reports - Defect List:
I tried extracting reports named as: Defect List
I have three defects created out of which one is assigned to me and two are unassigned. I did not select any parameter and clicked on RUN. It didnt display me any result!! Then I edited the query and selected 'owner' as myself. And ran the query. Still it doesnt display me any result. What do I need to do to find out the defects in a single report that are owned by me?
I have assigned myself as user to the project and the team area. Assigned all the rights to the role that is defined to me. On selection of my name to the owner of the defect it says "Owner doesnt belong to the team area'.
What should I do to make this user bleong to the team area? I have done all possible things as per the guide.

We are taking changes in this behavior under consideration. It has been a point of much confusion.

This topic was brought to my attention again. The tech note referenced is now out of date. The team will work to get the tech note updated, but the important thing to note is that the second bullet point does not apply. All defects associated with executions both past and present (not just latest) are included in the report.
