RQM creating values in Test case categories when test cases are exported from Excel

Kunal N (872862) | asked Aug 01 '19, 5:14 a.m.

 Hi All,

Recently we have observed when we try to export test cases from Excel using RQMexcel exporter the test cases are getting exported in RQM however the custom test case categories that we have created with a set of predefined values are also getting updated from excel sheet with values that do not match.

Example : We have a Test case category configured as "System" with values as "EDL,DB,DTL,MM" etc. Now when earlier CLM v6.0.4 we use to export test cases from excel to RQM and if the above predefined values were not used in our excel that was to export then RQMexcel plugin use to fire error because the values present in excel for test case category did not match with values already configured.
However now CLM V6.0.6 even if the values doesn't match with the values configured for test case category the export succeeds however in this case it automatically creates values in Test case category.( Meaning if predefined values were "EDL,DB,DTL,MM"  for System category and if in excel sheet we mentioned value for System as "EBS", "EE" then this values are automatically getting created. Due to this lots of garbage values are getting created in Test category.

Any help to restrict this or is this designed in this way only ?

Thank you,

This enhancement request is old. I mean it was created in 2013. I remeber prior to Version 6.0.6 RQM use to not add this extra values in test case category.

Thank you,
Kunal
