Lab Management

 Hi,

I am working in lab management reservations and requests.
The reservations working I got to understand , but What I am confused about is that how it is going for real machines.
Suppose that If i reserved also any lab resources using reservations and the calender is showing that lab resource booked for that period of time how can I get assurance that the machine will not be used for testing at that time.
May be it can happen that the lab resource might be booked and will take some more time to complete and thus it may happen that the resource inspite of booked cannot be used.
Is there any way that if I booked the lab resource for the particular period of time then it will not be available for testing by other users or some thing like that , any solutions like that?
Kindly revert whatever you know about my questions , It will be of great help.

Thank You
Abhishek

Hi,

As per my understanding you are trying to find what happens when execution on a resource for user 1 somehow extends its stipulated duration and enters in to the reservation zone of another user ( user2).
Well in this case I think you could refer to "Strict Reservation Based Tests" section of following help article - https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.rational.test.qm.doc%2Ftopics%2Fc_adapter_selection.html

This explains how reserved jobs can be queued for automating job pickup in the case mentioned above.

I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Abhishek
