Restricting Options in Filed Against based on Work Item Type

 Hi,


Can we restrict the options in "Filed Against" Drop Down Depending on the Type of Work Item being created. 

E.g. Only 2 options should be visible in Filed Against Drop Down while creating an Issue type WI, while the same 2 options should not be visible while creating a Defect but some other option should be visible.

Is there any way to do it. Please let me know.

I have submitted an RFE to allow Filed Against (and Planned For) to be targets of a Value Set.

 As far as I can tell, no, you can't. It might be possible to create a work item save advisor (Java Server Plugin) that restricts saving the work item. See https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2014/05/26/only-owner-can-close-workitem-advisor/ for an advisor example.

You are aware that there is a capability to only show some categories to users that are not member of the team the categories are for?
