 Hi All,

Trying to build a business case of IBM Rational Team Concert in our organization. And for that I am looking for some comparison information of "IBM Tivoli Change and Configuration Management Database" and " Visual Source Safe" with IBM RTC 5.0.2.

Your swift response on it is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Muhammad Moid

I am not a Microsoft employee, so you have to ask them to clarify. I know MS Source Safe from the last century. It is basically a system that was built for the last century and an entry level SCM system at best from my experience in 199x. It seems to be discontinued (see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31884238/visual-studio-2015-express-and-visual-sourcesafe-2005 ) or so and the next generation from MS is named in that post as well. So I would not consider Source Safe as an option.

IBM Tivoli Change and Configuration Management Database is not an SCM system as far as I can tell, so it can't be compared with RTC or MS Source Safe:  http://www-01.ibm.com/software/tivoli/products/ccmdb/features.html

In addition RTC does not provide only SCM but also change management (work items) planning and build tightly integrated.
