Reuse of test assets
Hello all,
I know that I am "missing" something, but please assist with a solution for the following scenario: TestPlan_Release1.0 has 2 Test Cases (TestCase1 & TestCase2) TestPlan_Release2.0 has 3 Test Cases (TestCase1,TestCase2 & TestCase3) In TestPlan_Release2.0, TestCase1&2 are now regression tests, and 3 is now a New Feature test. (TestPlan_Release1.0 & TestPlan_Release2.0 are both active) At first we had a category field on the test case that would list "Regression" or "New Feature". We you viewed TestPlan_Release1.0 and went to the "Test Cases" section, you saw the Test Cases listed with New Feature. But we see that we can't have that b/c if TestCase1 is saved with "New Feature", those viewing TestPlan_Release2.0 will see "New Feature" instead of "Regression". Do we just make snapshots of all of the TestCases? Is there a way of doing this that I am missing? |
