I have to synchronize some attributes. When I go to do that, I get "Save Work Item" errors for older migrated data. Is there a way to "pause" pre-conditions so that I can get this done?

The simplest thing is to give the user that does the synchronization a special role, say Sync, order the role as first role (on the top). Then in the process configuration select the new role and simply only click "Preconditions and follow up actions are configured for this operation" for work item save and select nothing. Save. Then do the synchronization and later remove the role from the user.
