How to add custom attributes to a plan view?

We have created some custom attributes that would be crucial to be at a plan view, but I can not add them. I saw this question came up already in this forum but there was no solution provided.

Summarizing the discussion :

1.  Non-list custom attributes can be made available to Planning by adding them to Attribute Mapping :
Open Project Area in Eclipse Client > Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Planning > Plan Attributes > Attribute Mapping > Add > Select the custom attribute and click OK

2.  For List based custom attributes here is an open Enhancement :
Enumeration list support in planning attributes (304193)

What is the plan to deploy this function? As I see it is in your backlog for more than 2 years, without real progress, and I'd be interested if there is a real chance to get this done.

Hi Akos, please feel free to add a note directly on the Enhancement so that relevant Team looks at it and can comment on it... do not forget to vote on it... that will help raise the priority on it.. thanks.

Open Project Area in Eclipse Client > Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Planning > Plan Attributes > Attribute Mapping > Add > Select the custom attribute and click OK

Refresh the Plan page and Revisit the Display Columns, the custom attribute added in step 1 should now be available

hope this helps

Sorry, I'm just a dummy user. How do I open the project area in eclipse? :)

I've managed to open with jazz RTC desktop client (I guess that is the same eclipse client), but I can't see the custom attribute at "Project Configuration > Configuration Data > Planning > Plan Attributes > Attribute Mapping > Add"

not all custom attributes are supported in plan views

couple of questions for you..
a.  what is the type of the attribute you have
b.  which version of RTC Eclipse Client and Server are you working with

 Hi Dinesh,

a. Enumeration List
b. Version: 6.0.1
Build id: RTC-I20151109-2045

List attributes are not available for Planning, you may want to add-on with your business case to the open Enhancement Request here :
Enumeration list support in planning attributes (304193)
