Copy workitem and archived attribute

Mathieu Defianas (15952938) | asked Aug 05 '16, 4:20 a.m.
Hello,
I have a project area with some archived attributes. Theses attributes are yet set on old workitems but simple user is not aware of this behaviour.
In fact, archived attributes are invisible on the workitem editor, on query, on report ... etc ...

However, when I use an old workitem and if I would like to copy it selecting specific fields, I see my archived fields (if they have been set on the old workitem) ...

Is it possible to remove archived field from copy workitem funtionality ?

Thanks a lot

Mathieu

no. Once an attribute is part of the data, it cannot be removed.

Hello Sam,
I agree with you but when I create a copy of a workitem, I will create a new workitem so I will use the new configuration without the archived attributes.
So, to my mind, the copy functionality should ignore archived attribute when the proposal is done to user ...
I think that it could be a good enhancement.

you can export/import to make new workitems without the attribute, but its a NEW workitem.. COPYworkitem makes a COPY.
