The flow of the work items in my project is that there are reassigned between the teams. There are couple of work items which are transferred across the teams but there is no real work on them. I would like to find such work items.

Currently there is no metric gathered in the data warehouse about number of project/component changes and retrieving such data from the history could be really difficult. But I found the following work around:
  • Create work item query displaying all work items older than and with the state New (assuming that the state New means that no team has accepted work item)
    OR
  • Create a custom attribute indicating the number of state changes and follow up actions increasing the counter
