how to install windows client for DOORS NG

Eric Jacobs (1313) | asked Feb 09 '16, 4:33 p.m.
Some users requested a trial install of Doors NG which I did on a Linux box. But now I'm trying to install the "thick" client on my Windows 7 box and not really getting there. I go through the "launchpad.exe" and request a client install. First they insist I install eclipse. Then I get a list of clients, but none of them say "DOORS NG". What am I missing? (Understand that I am a complete newbie to all of this IBM Rational stuff)

Hi Eric,

In previous versions (2.x and lower), you required to install a server and client separately but since some releases ago 3.x , the DOORS NG is completely web-based application.  That is that both client and server functionality resides in the same box.  So you only need to install the application and that's it.  Once running and configured you can access it through a web browser.
