Installing RQM 2.0 on top of RTC 2.0

Jose Miguel Ordax Cassa (2.4k4126100) | asked Jul 29 '09, 11:26 a.m.
Is such topology supported or viable? I thought that as both products
use the same Jazz Server 1.0 could be installed on top of the same base
(something like two different desktop product on top of same Eclipse).
At the end they are (or I thought they are) a bunch of plug-ins
extending Jazz Server.

Installation Manager doesn't let me install RQM 2.0 on top of RTC 2.0
package...

Comments?

Thanks in advance,

Chemi.

Here are the unsupported instructions for how to do what you are looking to do:
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/CALMRTCRQMSmokeInstall#ServerSetupTwo

At this time, installing RQM and RTC on the same server is not supported. There is, however, the ability to link two separate servers together using OAuth.

They both use the same ports. There are ways to change the ports but
they both can't share the same instance. They will have separate
database instances on the database server and will be separate
processes on the system so they will be partitioned on the machine.

Thanks Benjamin. Just for my knowledge, does it make sense what I was
thinking about? I mean, thinking about Jazz Platform as Eclipse Platform
so different products can be installed on top of the same platform
bundle as a group of plug-ins or extensions?

Is such scenario going to be studied in future plans?

Again thanks,

Chemi.
