RTC Template update

Usman Tahir (2728) | asked Nov 11 '15, 4:25 a.m.
I have created (n) number of  project in RTC with custom template and the project is in progress. Now there is an update in the template; ie., workflow for any work item has been updated. Is there a way to apply the update automatically to all the projects who are using the custom template.

No, if you deployed the template in all project areas and did not use process sharing, you have to update the change in each project area. See https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/SetupProjects for more information.

Just more to the query then; If I update the template, import it back again with the same ID and execute 'Deploy Predefined Templates'.

1. Should this update the templates for those (n) projects?
2.  What happens for n+1 project (created after template update)

Have you even looked at the link I provided? That actually explains that this is not the case and why.
Answer from https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/SetupProjects

  1. No
  2. They will have the new template process customization it has at the point in time the projects are created and there is no relationship between the template and the data in the project area any more, once it is deployed, as discussed in https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/SetupProjects
