Creating one Artifact Template for all the PA's in RQM

Amir Sinay (181420) | asked Jul 27 '15, 2:18 a.m.
 Hi,
Is it possible to create(and update later), a single artifact template(for example test plan), in RQM, that will be used by all the Project Areas in the application? I know that it is possible to copy a template using the CopyUtility, however I'm looking for an option of just changing it in one place and it will automatically distribute itself for all the PA's.

Thanks in advance!

If it is a common template for all project areas, it should be created in one PA and then use that PA's template as a base template so that all PAs are created from that template in which the common artifact template will be presented.
If however, the artifact template is created and you want to distribute it to all other existing PAs, other than using copyUtility, there is no better option to distribute to other existing PAs. Even in the copy way, there is no run-time relationship between the source template and copied templates(you can not update the source one and the copies templates will all be updated automatically), they are considered to be individual assets in each PA not global once copied.

Hi Don,

we used a so called Master PA which shares their process with other PAs. But it seems that the artifact templates were not automatically shared. We used version 4.0.6 and now 5.0.2 Should it be possible from version 5.0.2 ?
