session timeout

Hi,

I wonder why did u define the session timeout to 30 mins.
What were the considerations?
What do i need to think of if i would like to change it?

Thanks

Which session timeout? What is the effect? There are several session timeouts possible and some need to be set in the application server. Some could be due to network infrastructure setup where we have no influence at all.

Unless you can get a bit more specific, I think no one can help.

PS: I am running my test systems on Tomcat and Derby and there is no timeout I would be aware of.

 Hi Ralph,

I meant to login session.

The user need to re-login to the RQM, if he keeps open the page (one of pages on RQM) and did not work on it for 30 mins he need to re-login.

Thanks

Michal

What application server are you running on? WAS has the LTPA tokens and the timeout is 2 hours by default. I'd check with the team running the server what the log files say. I am pretty sure there is no default timeout of 30 minutes. So someone has set this or there is something that closes sessions after some inactivity.

Thank you

Did you find the problem? What was it?

I did not check yet.

If i'll find something i'll let you know.

Michal
